Welcome  to  the National Shrine of Saint  Jude  Thaddeus!

Since  its  inception  in  1954  as  a  personal  parish  for  the  Chinese  in  Manila,  Saint  Jude  Thaddeus  Shrine  virtually  developed  as  a  popular  center  of  the  devotion  to  Saint  Jude  in  the  Philippines.

         We  are  a  people  blessed  with  the  gift  of  faith.  Saint  Jude  Thaddeus,  our  Patron,  is  a  gift  to  the  Philippine  Church.  The  Shrine  of  Saint  Jude  is  truly  a  destination  to  begin  a  life  of  pilgrimage  of  faith  and  devotion  for  thousands  of  devotees  each  year.
 

       This  wonderful  sanctuary  of  prayer  and  celebration  of  the  sacraments  represents  the  depth  of  the  religiosity  and  Christian  tradition  of  the  Filipinos  spanning  many  generations.

       Under  the  pastoral  care  of  the  missionaries  of  the  Divine  Word  (SVD),  the  Shrine  unfolds  into  reality  the  dream  and  vision  of  Saint  Arnold  Janssen  to  spread  God’s  loving  presence  in  this  part  of  the  orient.

      Today ,  a  sea  of  humanity  troops  to  the  Shrine  every  Thursday,  rain  or  shine,  for  the  Mass  and  novena.

          People  from  all  walks  of  life,  from  the  lowly  churchgoers  to  the  Presidents  of  the  Philippines,  past  and  present,  have  come  to  the  Shrine  to  devoutly  express  their  prayer  of  praise,  thanksgiving,  contrition  and  supplication.

          I  welcome  you  as  partners  and  companions  in  this  journey  of  faith  and  prayer.  I  invite  you  to  spend  time  here  at  the  Shrine  and  allow  God  to  touch  you  with  His  grace  and  healing  presence.

          May  your  faith  be  increased  and  your  hope  be  strengthened  as  you  participate  actively  in  the  rich  liturgical  life  of  the  Church.
